Marcie McCutchen's life changed in the winter of 1994, when she viewed a segment about personal chefs on a popular TV morning show. A college student pursuing a court reporting degree, she realized her true calling was in the culinary arts; so, she quickly changed course and stirred up a hot new career.
Soon business was booming for this enthusiastic self-taught
chef. During the first five years, Marcie cooked in each client's home, bringing
everything from her collection of pots and pans to a briefcase full of spices.
In January of 2001, Marcie moved into her first commercial kitchen in Stafford, TX under the name Chef for You.
As business grew steadily, it became necessary to find
a larger location as they added catering services to the line up. In April of
2005 Chef for You moved to Sugar Land.
Marcie and her crew catered many successful events over the 8 years open in Sugar Land, while serving hundreds of hungry regular customers on a weekly basis. The business came to an end in December of 2012 when Marcie and her husband decided to retire.
The "retirement" didn't last all that long. Always striving to find a product that was fun to produce and complimented her creativity, Marcie began honing her skills at cookie decorating. Over the years, she had collected hundreds of cutters in all sizes and shapes, but rarely had time to work on her skills. That all changed with more time on her hands, and so she launched a new business centered around the art, which includes teaching others. Always loving to entertain, she began holding small classes in her home in Sugar Land in February of 2014. She plans to begin offering customized sugar cookies for all occasions, continue teaching classes, and would like to start selling her favorite supplies to others that enjoy this rewarding hobby.
